Can't use Expressii due to weird bug
Hi,
I was really impressed by the new surface pro 5 ad and downloaded the trial version of expressii.
Installing went fine, however I was unable to use expressi, since it seems to register the pen input incorrectly.
Instead of doing a brush stroke when I move the pen around on the screen Expressii moves the canvas, as if the pen input was my finger.
Is there anything I am doing wrong or is there a fix for that?
Thanks
P. S.
I am using Expressii on a Thinkpad Yoga 460 i5 5200U, 8GB RAM, GT 940M
with the new Wacom Bamboo Ink as digitizer.

Re: Can't use Expressii due to weird bug
Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, that means the Wacom Bamboo Ink is recognized as touch input rather than pen input.
If you're on Windows 8/10, please download the latest version at http://www.expresii.com/download.html
On Windows 8/10, with the latest version (2017.07.28), there's an option for choosing if to use OS Stylus API:
Do you see 'Wacom' as shown in the screen shot? Is so, that means Wacom's wintab32.dll get loaded by Expresii. But since your Bamboo is not working as pen input, your bamboo wasn't recognized by that wintab32.dll.
Please check 'OS Stylus API' so that Expresii uses the system API and see if this solves the issue.
p.s. From this review, it seems the Yoga 460 comes with its own stylus:

May I know why you'd use the Bamboo rather than Yoga's own stylus?

Re: Can't use Expressii due to weird bug
Thanks for your reply.
I did as you told me and checked that box, however pen input is still not recognised correctly (still only moves around the canvas).
Regarding your question, I have the stylus that comes with my laptop, it sits and charges inside a sylo in my device (the ThinkPad pen pro), however it is just a little toothpick and quite inconvenient for longer use.
So I also got the Lenovo pen pro (quite confusion naming scheme), which is bigger and quite OK.
However, when I heard about the Bamboo Ink (Wacoms latest pen just released last month), I had to try it.
Wacom says it supports 4096 levels of pressure (twice as much as my Thinkpad pens 2048). Apart from that it is a dual protocol pen supporting Wacom AES and Microsofts MPP and it has a bluetooth button for launching apps (like the Surface Pen).
The Wacom is indeed more reactive and seems to do more natural strokes than my ThinkPad pens. And it comes with interchangeable nibs.
going back to my question, the weird bug appears on all of my three pens, so it doesn't seem to be a pen problem.

And you really saw 'WACOM' at first as shown in the screenshot?
Do you see pressure reading when you go to the Diagnosis tab and press your stylus on the screen?

It does show something under pressure and the pen ID (pressure changes with the amount of pressure I put on the screen). However no tilt is displayed (I assume my pen does not support it), it says the G-Sensor is not available. Don't know what that means though. Attached you'll find a screenshot.

Re: Can't use Expressii due to weird bug
I was just informed by Microsoft that in their Fall Creator's update, they changed the behavior of the pen to make it act like a finger.
Are you on Fall Creator's update? If so, this is probably the culprit. I'll see if I can update Expresii to fix this. Thanks for your patience.

If your device can auto rotate screen, that means it has a G-Sensor built-in. To use it in Expresii you need to first enable Location in Windows:
